Rabbit Design.

Create a t-shirt that focuses on the year of the rabbit or hare. Use the vector graphic software Illustrator. This should be a quick time wise graphic. Design a rabbit it does not have to be or it can be realistic. The design can be cartoonish, realistic, made out of dots, lines, etc. Think of this assignment as an opportunity to make a type of work that you could do on your own when the semester is finished to create for self promotion and practice. ASSIGNMENT 2
Create a gift bag inspired by Tiffany stained glass using shape layers.

1 Create a template 17 x 11 inches at resolution 300 px/inch . Follow demo, key to template use grid and make sure snap to grid is turned on.
2 Research what early Tiffany stained glass looks like.
3 Make design be sure to use the grid to organize the design. Key work is design (Example being sure you are aware of where shapes are placed on the grid the exact angles shapes are rotated.

ASSIGNMENT
You will create a series of collages using Photoshop. These collages will be connected to the lectures and what we are learning in class about how to use Photoshop to edit pictures. Think of these collages as covers for music cd's or images for posters. You should be creating about one collage a day. The first part of class will involve a lecture about the software and then you should use what you learned in the collage.

DAY 1 COLLAGE
Connect two objects together so they make visual sense from the assets given to you in class. How to use selections will be most important skill learned to discard the back round and cut apart the objects. You will add color for instance a highlight by using a layer styles.

GROUP PRESENTATIONS
In groups of 2 or 3 choose a designer from the website History of Design or Design is History and you will also be given a design principal. With that principal you will describe how that designer used that term in a work he or she made.

2. Show an example of how design principal connects to a work done by chosen designer.

LOGO DESIGN

SUMMARY
You will create a trademark/logo for a company that focuses on what class decides as your inspiration. A symbol represents a business keep in mind how style relates to what ideas a company wants to communicate (Corporate Identity). The type of company you will design for will be decided by the class. Focus on the idea of GESTALT. Making the logo a unified whole. Example use the same weight of shapes throughout the logo.

WHAT TO SUBMIT
1 Any rough sketches. You start with rough sketches of ideas on a sheet of paper please brain storm. Skip this at your own risk . This part of the process is thinking out loud and putting as many ideas as possible in front of your nose in order to start forming an idea of where to take this logo. You will need to turn in this portion of the assignment.
2 Four sheets minimum of at least 2 different versions of the logo. On each of the 2 sheets of logos you will have multiple variations that are slightly changed in order to see as many different versions of the logo. This is done for you as the designer and the client in order to come to a consensus as to what is the best logo to represent the company.
3 Choose one single logo using the multiple sheets of logos. Make the necessary changes and turn in that choice.
4 Example of the 3-d examples of logo in use (airplane, pickup truck, sign, semitruck.
5 Creative brief explaining logo. Brief must have at least these 3 Message, Audience, and Back round) . Explanation of a DESIGN BRIEF or CREATIVE BRIEF

Evidence of creative process showing multiple versions of each logo thinking through visually best way to represent companies visual values. Did you do multiple versions and variatations.
