LABEL ASSIGNMENT
ASSIGNMENT
Learn and practice using the pen tool in Illustrator to trace around the bottle. The bottle will be constructed with 8 shapes not including the label. You will break this illustration into 4 layers (1. bottle 2. nozzle 3. label 4. Photograph) The second part of the assignment will be to make a minimum 4 different labels for a product called ZING which will be submitted when the assignment is due.
BRANDING
Be sure to choose colors that symbolize or will be identified with the brand. Choose one dominant color and then no more than three other colors that are secondary. Black and white are not colors and can be used at will. Look at and study the Wikipedia definition of BRANDING.
AUDIENCE
Generic consumer walking through a supermarket, Walmart, Target, etc. who is looking for a stain remover.
OBJECTIVES
1. Choose colors that define and create a brand for the bottle and label of a product called ZING.
2. Use font that connects to the style of the design.
3. Create a back round a visual idea that connects to the name of the product.
4. Practice using pen tool and illustrate the bottle.
5. Create 4 different labels for the front of the bottle. The versions do not need to be a different idea, but can be a variation on one idea.

WHAT TO INCLUDE
• (1) Trace of the bottle with the final label chosen. (2) a. Type at bottom of the page the HEX # or CMYK # of colors chosen b. State the color scheme used. Only use one of these color schemes Analogous, Monochromatic, Triad, Complementary, Compound, Shades. (NO CUSTOM COLOR SCHEMES)
• Multiple comps of the label.

DVD REDESIGN COMPOSITE/COLLAGE
IMPORTANT VISUAL IDEAS TO BE DEMONSTRATED
1. Rule of Thirds.
2. Using guides to organize space.
3. Pictures should be fragments of the narrative found in the film to allude to the story.
4. Text, use of colors or fonts should be used logically to organize info such as title, stars, description, etc.
CREATIVE BRIEF DVD REVISION
BACK ROUND
Description of project, goals, and objectives. Create three different covers for the same movie for a DVD cover that is over 15 years old. Organize all the info and a specific size page. The template will be projected on the screen in class or use the one below.
DELIVERABLES
What will be created for client for a visual id. or ad campaign. Example brochures, posters, stationary.. Create 3 versions in Photoshop of a DVD Cover. You will copy the info from the cover and change the look and feel of the design. Images for the design will be your own. The three versions needs to be a composite/collage of images you have made.
AUDIENCE
Knowledge of who work will be made for to guide style and look of design. A specific audience that the movie has been made for that can be a specific gender, any age, and any type of person depending on the film.
OBJECTIVES
How will success be defined. What exactly needs to be accomplished. Reorganize the information and create a collage that connects to the themes of the movie.
